Funny sign at Sosua "Pet Chop"

While walking down Pedro Clisante in Sosua one evening I couldn't help but snap a picture of this funny sign. I don't know many people that would bring their beloved pet to a "pet CHOP", but apparently this pet store has been in business for a while. . . . .Only in the Dominican Republic!

Jardin Botanico, Santo Domingo. This is a shot of the Japanese garden section of the botanical gardens in santo domingo, dominican republic. Many dominican families will spend the day here, having a picnic on the grass. In a bustling city such as santo domingo, the peace a quiet of the gardens can be a very welcome change of pace.

No Problemo! Scenes like this are not unusual in the Dominican Republic. I would be willing to bet that few people even gave a second look to this guy carrying a car on his bicycle!

Only in the Dominican Republic will you see a no parking sign where the reason parking is not allowed is because of falling mangos! This sign is in the rear parking lot of the Jaraugua hotel and casino in santo domingo.

The sign outside Rancho Tipico Las Colinas in Santiago, Dominican Republic. They have a car wash, a pool hall and a bar with a dance floor. You can drink ice cold Presidente while dancing with the waitresses and getting your car washed. Follow that up with a game of pool!

Another shot of Rancho Tipico Las Colinas. On this night they had a "comedy" show. It featured a few gay men doing skits and lipsyncing, but the best part was the "midget" in drag getting tips stuffed into his bikini! I will post a video of that to www.dr-tourist.tv very soon!

Baseball Game at Estadio Quisqueya. This game was on a tuesday night in November of 2003, and the place was packed and the crowd was wild. You would have thought it was game seven of the World Series.
